Learn how to manifest as a couple.

You can retire, too!

It’s kinda funny seeing people’s reaction to us when we say DeWayne is retired. Some people ask if he joined the military when he was 12.  Others ask “He’s going to get a job, isn’t he?” even though the tone is more of an expected statement rather than a real question. When I say “Only if he wants one,” they look very confused.

I realize it probably has to do more with the word “retirement” and what we think that means or when we think that normally happens in someone’s life.  Honestly, we haven’t really liked the word ourselves, but hadn’t come up with anything better.

Recently I was reading “The Not So Big Life” and the author shared a definition of retirement that I really like.

“Retire from doing things that have no meaning or joy in them anymore.”

With this new definition, I have personally been retired for years because I committed myself to follow my joy and create meaning in everything I do.

I am really excited for DeWayne to fully step into this way of being and living with me.  And I want to invite you to do the same.  You don’t need to wait to be a certain age, or to have a certain income, a certain dollar amount in your savings or investments, or when your kids are older.  And in our case, we didn’t have to know what was next.  All we knew is that we wanted to live in Portland.  Once you let go of all the excuses, you realize it can be sooner than you think.

And here is even better news. You don’t have to make big, tough decisions to retire.  Just commit to follow your joy and bring more meaning into your life.  If you don’t know what that is, create space and experiences to explore what that may be right now.  Maybe it is learning to play an instrument, or picking up one you used to love playing. Maybe it is taking a class to learn how to paint, photography, make furniture, garden, write.  Maybe it is traveling? Or volunteering?  The list is endless.

If you are unhappy with your work, where can you bring more joy and meaning into it? Where can you practice being retired?

If you know it is time to leave, where can you remove pressure and feelings of being stuck.  Where can you begin to remove debt? Where can you simplify your life? Where can you become trained in something you love?  Where is your gut and intuition guiding you now that you are allowing yourself to even have the conversation with yourself?

Once we knew DeWayne wanted to retire at 20 years, we had 5 years to prepare for the transition.  Even early on, we were both counting on me to make up the financial difference in his retirement pay with my businesses.  This put a lot of pressure on me and my business and it felt very heavy. Once I realized this, I was able to let it go and trust that we could manifest it in other ways. We didn’t need to figure out “how” it was going to happen.  We just kept the big vision, took inspired action, and listened to our inner guidance.

How to use the Manifesting Process for Retirement:

  1. Gain Clarity:  What does retirement look like to you? What are things you want to do that you don’t feel like you can do right now? What brings you joy?
  2. Raise Your Vibrations:  Create and follow your joy!  Find ways to remove feelings of pressure and being stuck.
  3. Allow:  Give yourself permission to retire sooner than you think. Be open to possibilities.

Books that have really helped us:

YOU can do this.  Really you can.  And I am here to help. I look forward to sharing more about our personal experience with you.

Enjoy manifesting your next chapter, whatever that looks like for you.

When the Universe Knocked

One of my favorite manifesting stories is the one where we sold our condo when the Universe literally knocked on our door. We were getting ready to sell our luxury condo so we could move to Portland, Oregon once DeWayne retired from the military. Since we had sold and bought several properties we felt comfortableContinue Reading

Walking My Talk

Hello fabulous friends, Yesterday marked a month since my hubby and I moved to Portland.  While we both love it here, there have been lots of emotional ups and downs in finding a place to live and what our new life will look like here. This is the time and place I get to deepenContinue Reading

Take your dream for a test drive

In a few weeks we enter into a new chapter of our lives.  DeWayne will retire from the military and we will move to Portland, Oregon.  If those weren’t big enough changes, we have decided to also build and live in a tiny home, too.  Seems easy enough.  Heck, we’ve already downsized quite a bitContinue Reading

Hold Your Imagination Sacred

Be willing to dream, and imagine yourself becoming all that you wish to be.  If you live from those imaginings, the universe will align with you in bringing all that you wish for.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer Everything that has been created in this world began with imagination. How many of us are really mindfulContinue Reading

Our Dream Sheet That Landed Us In Hawaii

When DeWayne and I were in the transition of moving, we didn’t know where we would end up. Instead of getting stressed out, we decided to put our energy towards getting clear about what experience we wanted and then allowed ourselves the time and space to watch how it all unfolded (and continues to unfold.)Continue Reading
